Bharata Natyam
is the great temple art originated from Tamil Nadu of South India.
It has been an unbroken tradition for more than 3000 years, it is
used both as a vehicle of worship and as an expression of man who
consacrates the body which is considered to be, in itself of no
value. Like the yogi, by controlling his breath and by modifying his body, acquires a halo of sanctity, the dancer dissolving her identity and her whole being in rhythm and music, makes her body an instrument for the experience and expression of spirit |
